Windmill Toys
We had a very nice gentleman stop in the studio today, (and we don't get many men in there). Donald Barnes came from Owensboro and saw our sign. So he thought he would stop in and show us what he creates, Wind Toys. He makes these by hand and they are very sturdy.
I immediately thought of my parents and how the grandkids would love to see this in action, every time they came for a visit. As the wind blows, it catches the fan windmill part that turns, and makes the horse look like he is trotting.
So although we can't sell them ( I did buy one), I can pass along his name if you would like to buy any for your house.
They do need to be up high, as the windmill parts are metal.
Merry Christmas Donald, and thanks for coming by today.

Snowmen cards by Sue
These adorable snowmen cards were brought in by Sue Lis to share.
We are sold out of the Stampavie stamp sets, but we do have the Dot Sparklers used as "bling".
Some of the ladies were referring to them as "fleas", as they kind of jump if you don't slip under them just right to pick up. Several fun colors are in..blue, red, gold, violet and green.
Very nice to decorate your Christmas tree, snowman or wreath card.

Tag M&T from Open House
We had a great turnout for the Open House yesterday. So many nice ladies came in to see us, browse, eat and some even stayed to work on Christmas cards. I heard through out the evening, "there are so many nice people who come in here. It is such a nice warm atmosphere".
Some words of kindness really do make your day. This time it made the few months of "start up struggles" worthwhile.
Thank you to all of you who were able to attend.
We really do appreciate you all!
This is the tag we had for our guests to make. We hope you will all come back soon and use the products you purchased.
Truffles for lunch.
I had a nice surprise when I got back to the studio last week, although I did miss seeing Kim when she delivered it. I had won the Where Women Cook magazine from her (Serendipity Vintage Studio), blog giveaway last week.
I had been to Jasper, (with a quick stop at Doodlebug..shhh..)
So there was the wonderful magazine with food in it for me. Then I had 2 friends come by the next day after going to Truffles, the new Eatery in Newburgh. They were talking about the wonderful breakfast they had there. So feeling a bit hungry by now, I wondered aloud about remembering me while they were there. "OH, I almost forgot", was the reply, "I brought you some truffles" .
Those wonderful, melt in your mouth truffles, were my lunch. The little box was cute too.
How special can a girl feel? Here's a peek.
COPIC Christmas card class added...
How often do you reach for the same colors when using paints, markers, pencils (or whatever medium you use), because those are "comfortable" ones to use? Well Helen decided to "take a walk on the wild side"...not exactly, but it did get your attention.
She has created a different color theme for one of the cards she will be teaching, using a Stampavie set & COPIC markers.
It was an "aha!" moment, when the colors came to life.
See how cute they turned out. Her class is Monday, Dec. 13th. at 6:30 pm . Call to register.

SALE at Open House this Friday.....
I wanted to clarify some cards I had posted previously. Many of these are samples I make, so you can see what you can do with the paper or stamp used. These are not kits made up to sell, but samples for the studio. If I mention a certain item, it usually means we have it in, (at the time of posting).
When we have a M&T I usually name it as such, so you'll know what to expect when you come in to do it. However, I forgot to mention the Snowman cards as this week's M&T. That is the only one that is a M&T this week, until we have the Open House. That one is always a surprise, (even to me sometimes if I have a brain drain moment).
If you want help finding the items we use, just ask. But we can't offer classes in all the samples or make kits to sell for them either. These are ideas only. We want you to create something on your own too, and copying is a great way to get one made.
Hope to see you at the Open House, on Friday, December 3rd. and remember, it is 40% off everything, except the Laurel Burch and Peanut Brittle from Nana.
Iris Folding Class tonight..
We had a nice time at the Iris Folding Class tonight. I try to remember to take my camera, and then try to remember to use it. Tonight I finally remembered to take a photo after a few had already left. (Sorry to the ones who didn't make the press).
We are already looking into the new year at more Iris Folding classes. See how cute the cards are in an older post from November 20th.
Flourishes, Scor Buddies,COPIC's and Sparkles are in...
We are still trying to find some room for last order received. Maybe after Friday's sale we will have more. Wink, Wink....
We have Flourishes stamps, Scor Buddies, a few more COPIC Sketch colors and some fun Sparkles, just in time for the bling on your Christmas cards.
