Open House- 1 Year Anniversary

Can you believe this is our retail area when we first opened? Now it is packed so full we need a bigger space!
On Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1st. we will celebrate out 1 year Anniversary, or is it a birthday? Anyway, we have been open a year now. Hard to believe.

Stop by for some fun. We'll have refreshments, M&T , door prizes, and some of the instructors will be on hand doing "their thing", so you can stop by and ask questions, or chat.

Then this week, (just to be different), bring in your Hobby Lobby coupon, and use it in our store . **One per customer please.

M&T week of September 20th.

I apologize for the blurry photograph. I am not sure what my DH did to the camera, but it is either wacky or my eyes have worsened in the past 2 weeks.
This was the best of 5 shots, believe it or not. But you get the gist of it.

The printed leaf paper is from Imaginisce and the beige colored mat is a Tim Holtz Distress paper. I embossed it and sanded a bit to pop the image.

Spellbinders used were Labels 18. The fence is an old Sizzix, but a favorite of mine. Various leave punches from our stash in the studio.

Stop by this week and make this. The kits are available until Friday's Late Create (or until we run out).

M&T week of September 14th.

This M&T uses a Hero Arts stamp set called Sew Artsy. I thought I would have a tougher time using the dress form, than the other stamps in the set, but paper piecing was a good thought.

The paper is from My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose series. I added some May Arts ribbon and a soft coral color of pearls from Mark Richards. Stop by any time this week (until kits run out) and make this card for $3.00

We have added a class this month, with Kimberly Jones. If you ever shopped at Serendipity in Henderson (when it was open), you will be as thrilled as we are to have Kim with us teaching.

The class is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 29th. at 6pm.

As soon as we get her samples we will post them. It's safe to say she will be using some May Arts ribbon, since she is one of the designers again this year.

Stamping & ATC day...

Thanks to everyone who came by today, to either exchange their ATCs, do some stamping, or just visit!

It was a nice day......

Some new faces and some "old friends" gathered, as Kimmay explains the ATC Club. If you did not make it in, please come by to get yours this week.

The next ATCs are due on Saturday, October 1st. If you can't be there, please make sure you get yours handed in before that day.

I apologize for not thinking to get photos of the ATCs exchanged today. They are gorgeous.

M&T week of September 7th

The M&T for this week is "light as air", as there is a hot air balloon involved. Come on in and make it for $2.00 all week long.

The paper is another Rusted Sun series from Fancy Pants. I'm getting into my fall mode with the rich colors.

The die cut is an older one I had and I believe I bought from PaperTrey Ink. The sentiment is also from PaperTrey and the tag is a Spellbinder.

Speaking of Spellbinders....we have a shipment of the new releases, from summer CHA. I was good and only kept 2 for myself (so far). Better hurry in to get best selection. (If you pre-ordered-they will be kept back for you.)

Iris Folding Class

Rebecca will be back for another Iris Folding Class. Thursday, Sept. 22nd. at 6 PM.

We'll be making some fall cards, and hope for some cooler weather. Call to register.

Linda (the good egg).....

A private egg joke. But , I just had to show you this beautiful piece of art that Linda Miller created a few years ago.

It is a real goose egg . Linda said it becomes studier the more you add to it. But I was afraid to even pick it up. There is a hinge where it opens and the inside is lined with a velvet like fabric.

Here are 2 views, one with it opened. Can you imagine the work involved in this. Thank you for sharing Linda. It is lovely!

COPIC technique class

Helen had some nice ladies for her "patterned paper" look class, using COPIC markers.

Here the class has a light moment deciding when to do a "Beginner's COPIC class.
