Stargazers & Prisma Pencils class

We have a 2 card class coming up in November. Since the Stargazers take a little while to dry, we can be working on another card with Prisma Pencils. Anita Vowell has 2 lovely cards she has created and will be teaching on Friday, November 5th. at 10am. Class size is limited, for individual attention. (This is a more advanced stampers class).

Crochet Class October 5th.

We have added a Tuesday evening Crochet Class. It is next Tuesday, October 5th. with Glenda Jaccard, at 6pm.
Those whom are already registered, will need a G hook, (#8), and cotton yarn. Hope I got that right, as I do not know how to crochet, but need the class myself!
Here is a lovely baby blanket Glenda made (and I bought for my niece).
The first class will be beginners, so we will be making a dish cloth.
Call for more info.

Cross Stitch classes

We have an incredibly talented instructor for cross stitch and will open our first class on Friday, October 29th. for a 6pm class. The follow-up class will be November 19th.
Diane Payne has some really beautiful pieces, but this one is my favorite. Note the 2 tigers walking towards the eye, in the reflection. Yes, this is cross stitching. (This is not the class she is teaching..this is very advanced, but I couldn't help but show off her art!).
Call to register for an Ornament Class in Cross Stitch, cost is $20.00 for both classes.

Tuesday Take Away...

This week we are doing some embossing and faux stitching. Hope you can join us.

M & T

I did not have time to add the M&T we did for Grand Opening, so here it is.
I am so pleased with the 2 punches I used of Martha Stewart. One on the top edge and one on the bottom edge, to make the "faux fence."
Need to write Martha and let her know, right? Maybe get a punch or 2 for MTTC.....

Loralie Stamps

This has got to be one of the cutest cards I have seen. It was made by Joy Bates and she included pearls and some tulle for the hat. So sassy! Gotta love them Loralie's . We do have some left and will be ordering more in. Let us know your favorites.

and more....

Specials rack.

Stamps & Cosmo Cricket.
Loralie, Flourish, Crafty Secrets and more stamps.

Paintings

The paintings are by June Littell and framed by RiverWind Gallery. We thought they made our place look more "comfy".

Photos of retail area

Here are some long awaited photos of our retail area. It is small, but quaint. Let us know if you are looking for something, perhaps we can order it in.

Sign hanging

We were running on a tight schedule, getting our sign hung on Friday am, the day before opening.
All the fuss and this guy hung it alone, in less than a half hour! Impressive Joe, (which was the name on his shirt. But I thought he said Rick-not sure of memory lately, unless he borrowed a shirt). Anyway, he was very nice and fast.
We want to mention too, that our sign was designed by a Signature School senior, Angela Jordan. Thanks Angela...wonderful art work. Everyone who saw it, has loved it.

Husbands came too...

Some ladies brought their husbands to opening. One couple stood out, as he was seated beside her while she made the card, making nice comments and offering good suggestions too.
Melody is one lucky lady, to have Keith as a hubby. They spend days together enjoying each other's hobbies and interests. (Insert admiring sigh here)....

Free M&Ts for Grand Opening...

We had some very talented stampers visit us for M&Ts at the grand opening. Thanks to all who came.

Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting

The Chamber of Commerce opened our retail area with a ribbon cutting. I wish I could remember all of their names, but my mind was reeling, or should I say "realing" from reality. We are open!
A few photos of ribbon cutting and then backwards to sign hanging.
The handsome guy in the back is Mary's husband, Dave.
We could not have gotten this far without his constant help and support. Thanks Dave!

One Sheet Wonder

This was a class we did last month, that took longer than we expected. But we all survived to tell of it. Note the ribbon stamp again. That is one of the smartest stamps ever made. (We have more in too).
We have one of those light boxes like Deb Olsen has. Mary's hubby, Dave, has been very creative too and helped us design a few things in the studio and retail. The box is not quite finished, so you can see the canvas exposed. All will fall into place...eventually.
Did I put in a word about his place..Dave's Sport's Bar & Pizza Hub, on Weinbach. Great pizza!
Don't forget the chocolate chip cookies too. Yeah, in a bar..very good ones too.

Other classes recently..

Joy Bates taught these adorable little book and tea lights. I just wanted to show them off, so we can prompt her to teach again. Actually she is going to soon. P.S. Are there pockets in these books? Hmm, mine don't have any.

Retail sneak peeks...

I took a few more photos today of the retail. Maybe I can put one in each day..nah, too busy. Let's just do a couple now.

Tuesday Take Away...

This is this week's M&T. A very simple card, and easy to do.
Cost $2.00
This week we will probably have to clean up the M&T earlier, to get ready for Grand Opening.
So around noon on Friday, I'll put this one away. It will be with the others from past weeks, so you would have to get the items needed from shelves, if you wanted to make it.
I have already pulled the first 3 cards , as we need room for most recent ones.

Tuesday Take Away...

This is the M&T for this week.
Hope you are able to stop in to do it sometime this week.
Cosmo Cricket is so colorful. Our last flowers before the fall comes???

Serendipity , with Kim Jones

Have you heard...Kim Jones from Serendipity is a member of the May Arts Design Team.
How exciting for her and us !
Most of you know her talents and we are expecting to see more of her, now that she has returned to teaching. Yeah us.......
You can click on the blog list at right, to see her latest post.
We are looking forward to October, when she will be joining us at MTTC for a class (or 2).
(She has also been kind enough to try helping me with this blog thing....I'm not a techie at all).

Cricut classes almost full....

We still have a couple spots in the Cricut Class for September 24th. Call to register or stop in. When we fill, we can add another class, so don't worry about missing out. We got you covered.
Some ladies are wondering if we will get a Cricut to have at the studio.....there is a new one coming out in the fall, so we will save our pennies until then.
If you have one now, you are welcome to bring it in to work here. Sherry Walker & Starla Clayton brought one on Friday night and they did some really nice things with it. I had never been tempted before, since I have some many other die cutting machines. But after listening to Paulette talk about it, we are hooked.

Speaking of Friday night....we really appreciate all the ladies who came to our late crop. Good food and friends, card making and scrapbooking, what could be better?
Thanks for delicious peanut butter fudge Sherry, (right to the hips from the lips).

Grand Opening !

I know you have all been waiting for our retail to open, and we have a date for a
Grand Opening. Saturday, September 25th. is the day, so mark your calendars.
Come in for a free M&T that day, delicious cake balls from Icing On The Cake, prizes, meet some of our instructors and see samples of what you can do. Shop in our quaint retail area, which has supplies for card making, scrapbooking and some other fun items. Hope to see you soon!

Crochet & Cross Stitch Classes

We have met some very talented ladies in the past few days. Glenda Jaccard brought her beautiful crocheted blankets, sweaters, shawls and cup holders in to share with us. (I already bought a baby set for my new great niece).
Glenda will be starting her beginners crochet class on Tues. September 28th. We have a 10am class or a 6pm class. The first class is $12.00, or you may register for a 4 week class for $40.00 and save a little.
We already have some ladies signed up to learn, so call to register, or stop by and see us.

Diane Payne also came in with her incredible cross stitch art work! They were all so detailed and looked like paintings, that it was hard to choose a favorite.
We are setting up classes for late October or November, to do a Christmas ornament. If you have never cross stitched or haven't for awhile, you will want to come in for her classes. Keep checking back for dates and soon the sample photos. (I forgot my camera).

World Card Making Day

Saturday, October 2nd. is World Card Making Day and we would love to celebrate with you.
Do you have something you would like to share? Bring it along, we love new ideas!

Montly Stamping Club - Second Saturday

We are starting a monthly stamping club at MTTC. It will be the second Saturday of each month, from 10am to 4pm. All adults welcome. Just bring your own projects and supplies and get caught up on your stamping.
We used to have a monthly club that met at the Library and I really miss it. Some would come to stamp and others for ideas. But whatever the reason, come join us for some creativity and sharing.
October 9th is first gathering. Cost is $3.00 for the Make & Take supplies.

Tuesday Take Away...

Since we are closed on Mondays now, we decided to call the M&T, which starts each week on Tuesday, "Tuesday Take Away".
This week you have a choice of girl or boy baby card. Cost is $3.00
Remember we are open through the entire week now, (except Sunday & Monday),
from 10am to 4pm
On Friday's we are open until 9Pm. Stop by and see us.

Cricut classes coming!

How many of you bought a Cricut and never learned how to use it? Here is a chance for anyone to learn the basics of the Cricut machine.
Paulette Bretz will be teaching a basic class on Friday, September 24th. at 6:00pm.
The cost is $12.00 and you will learn the basics of how to use the machine. You may bring your own machine, (which is probably better to get to know your own machine), or just follow her on her machine. She said it doesn't matter which machine you have, either will work.
After hearing her talk about it, I was tempted for the first time to buy one. Maybe a good addition to our studio?
Please call to register, 490 4790. We will limit the class to around 12 and schedule another one if we need to.

Updates and classes.....

Let's get some more photos on here.
We have a 5 card class on Friday Sept. 10th. The first class is 10 am and the second class is at 6pm the same day. Please specify which class you want to take, when registering.
Cost is $15.00
That is also the night of "late crop". So if you register for card class, you may stay for free until 11:30pm.
If you are not registered for class, the cost of "late crop" is $10.00, which includes dinner and drinks.
Registration is needed.

The initial card idea was "cased" and I'm afraid I don't have her name right here, but thank you to someone out there. I will try to give credit when posting something, so if you recognize a card idea as yours, let me know.

Items still arriving.....
Let's see, what have we gotten in lately? Tim Holz die cuts, embossing powders and distress inks. Scor Tape, and Scor Buddies, Scor It as well and some Just The Right Stamp, Flourishes stamps...oh so pretty! Martha and EK Success punches.
We are getting some Loralie stamps in soon.....they are so sassy, you'll love them if you have not seen them before.
Lots and lots of paper and card stock, enough for scrap bookers and card makers.
The Ribbon stamps we can't seem to keep in. As soon as it was shown at the One Sheet Wonder class, they "disappeared".
Here is a photo of those cards. Pay attention to the ribbon...it's a stamp! Imagine the possibilities. What a smart stamp!

Starting next week we have new hours at the studio.
Sunday & Monday closed
Tuesday 10am-4pm
Wednesday 10am-4pm
Thursday 10am-4pm
Friday 10am -9pm
Saturday 10am- 4pm

Since we will be closed on Mondays, the new Make & Take will be started on Tuesday's each week. The cost varies and I will try to post it before that morning.
A couple of the past M&T's are shown here.

We hope you can drop in and create with us soon!
