Santa's Sleigh, from Flourishes

Santa's Sleigh is another Flourishes stamp for Christmas. We have lots of stamps you might need for your cards. Have you started or finished yours? I must confess, I have not actually started mine. I had better "make time to create", or I won't get them finished.
We have some half price studio days again. Wednesday 8th and 22nd. So if you are like me and you need to get started on your cards, better make some time.

Stampavie is in...

We have Stampavie sets in. Just in time for those Christmas cards too. I colored the little girl in blue, in a COPIC class I took. Helen said we had to get those stamps, so we did! I also started coloring the snowmen, (and snow- woman), called Cuddles. See how cute the row of houses are and all you have to do is cut a row and attach to card front. Then you can have fun with the snowmen. Why are they just called snowmen, now that I think of it???

SALE at Open House this Friday.....

I love coloring in wreaths and this one is so simple. It is a Flourishes stamp of course.
You'll have to come in and see what's left on Friday, since we are having a 40% off sale for Open House. * Does not include Laurel Burch or Nana's Peanut Brittle.

Flourishes , "Best Christmas stamp ever"..

Sue had this stamp long before we opened and commented that it was "probably her all time favorite Christmas stamp." When we asked a few friends for any samples they would like to share, Sue brought this one over. So, we set up a class and she came back with even more samples. Then she also made an gorgeous ornament using the stamp.
Her class on November 30th. is with 2 cards and 1 ornament, using her favorite stamp. (We have ordered more in, as they keep selling out).
Cost for her class is $12.00 and it is at 10:00 am. Here is a closer look at her ornament. (Colors may vary, as we are getting metallic card stock in too).
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Kaisercraft , Noel

Whenever I buy a piece of paper I try to envision a page and a card with it. Although I have not gotten many pages completed since opening, I have made cards. This is done with the Kaisercraft, Noel collection.
It is not really a traditional Christmas paper, but I wanted to show what you could do with it.
So many ideas, so little time.......

Basic Grey Jovial Doilies

We had gotten these lovely Doilies in from Basic Grey and I know some thought I was crazy. But I could see several cards made with one 12x12 sheet. I cut out each bunch, making sure I had at least one poinsettia in each,(which gave me 7 to use).
3 are a smaller bunch and 4 are larger. This was done with one cut of the
12 x12 poinsettia bunch.
I used vellum over it and made a greeting, edged the card with gold and it was completed with Zva beads.
7 cards from one sheet. Nice...
The paper in the background is part of the Jovial collection.

Cross Stitch Card

Diane had made this wonderful cross stitch ornament, as a sample to keep at our studio. She admitted she was not a card maker and suggested I do something creative with it. I decided to do that yesterday, as I was making other samples, (that will follow). I hope Diane is pleased with my design, as her cross stitching is amazing.
Beginner cross stitching classes are available. Call for details.

Bo Bunny, Loralie and Jillibean...

The M&T from last week never made it on the site completed. It is made with Bo Bunny- Jasmyne paper. I just found out this particular one is sold out for the year. We hope it gets picked up again next year, as it is a gorgeous paper.
The middle card is made with a Loralie stamp & a new Spellbinder. Thanks Susan for letting me play with it. I'm still practicing with my COPICs.
The last card is made with Jillibean paper. Some of you might rmeember this one, as the "other side" of the "One Sheet Wonder" class in August. It also makes nice Christmas trees.

Tuesday Take Away , Thanksgiving week...

This week's M&T is a Thanksgiving card. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and are blessed with family and friends near by. Sending prayers to our men and women in the Armed Forces too!

Cosmo Cricket's "Mitten Weather"...

We have the cutest Cosmo Cricket 6x6 packs, which are a really good size for card makers too.
I did these 2 cards from the pack.
The snowmen are a Sizzix die cut.

Another card sample was made with May Arts ribbon and Zva pearls.

Cricut Demo with Paulette

We all consider Paulette Bretz "the Cricut Guru". She did demos this morning for us, (and I was stuck at home). So, I ran over to click a photo (knowing my son and his friend had just gone outside to climb trees), and of course it's blurry. However, you can still see the dedication.
We are looking at future classes, so let us know what you need and when is good for you.
Look for our "black Friday" sales on Wednesday evening. I can tell you the sale will be from 12 noon until 5pm. That way you will have already hit all the early bird specials in all the other places and can relax in ours a bit.

Upcoming classes, events....

We have lots of things to do in the next month, as well as November, which is almost gone..can you believe it?!!
Last night we had our Late Create and a few different areas of crafting were "represented".
Some people think you have to be scrapbooking to come to these Late Create Nights. However, we had someone working on cross stitch, as well as card makers working on their Christmas cards.
Diane Payne teaches the Cross Stitching classes and brought a sample in of this cute Christmas bells image, for the beginners class. She started and completed it last night in a few hours, (of course it would have taken me several days), and she does an incredible job. I love watching someone who has a passion for what they do. Here is her completed Christmas bells, before adding to a card front.
Don't forget we also have Knitting & Crochet for beginners. We also met a new lady, Gloria, yesterday. She was wearing some fabulous pieces she made and we are talking about a class in the future. Anyone wanting to learn some beading?
Soon we will announce a Turtle making class....mmmmmm! Yes, it is time for some chocolate creating too.
Photo Frames as gift giving, coming soon too. Check the blog at least twice a week and if you are not on our e-mail list...git'r done!

Flourishes, Jillibean & Radiant Rain

Sue Lis made this beautiful card using her favorite Flourishes stamp. The shimmer is Radiant Rain, and the paper, (which is card stock heavy), is from Jillibean. The image piece tucks into the round greeting, as a folded card. She will be teaching a class with this stamp set, using Prisma Pencils on Tuesday, November 30th. at 10:00am. Once the samples are completed, I'll post those as well. The stamps are already sold out and we have reordered to get more before the class. Cost of class is $12.00

Tuesday Take Away & Cricut Demo on Saturday

This week's M&T will be a "surprise", kind of...for 2 reasons. I decided to take a photo before it was finished and surprise everyone. I thought it would be a fun thing to do. Kind of like a challenge for you to imagine how it could be finished.
The second and real reason is... I did not get it finished. I spent almost the entire day unpacking from the Leavenworth weekend away. It has to be counted and put in the right places, so that is a little harder to do than when it's packed up.
They say that "variety is the spice of life", so I stopped at one point for a break and put away the Halloween paper. That too has to be counted.
When it was time to create, my left brain wanted to do something entirely opposite of my right brain. Opposites do not attract at a time like that. While the 2 brains were arguing, I took a photo and put it aside. I know it will come together first thing tomorrow, as I love this Bo Bunny paper and luscious plum colored Zva pearls.
I hope you'll come in and see what it looks like and make one too.

We also had our first Advanced Cricut Class tonight and they did some glass etching. How nice they all turned out. Hopefully I will get to do the 101 class someday soon. All the ladies love Paulette and she certainly has the passion for the Cricut. (I think Santa will bring ours right after Thanksgiving).
Paulette is going to do a Demo for the Cricut this Saturday, from 10am to 12 noon. So if you are out and about come by and see the Cricut and what it can do, with Paulette at the helm.
This Saturday is also the Scrapbooking Club Day. Our first gathering for the"Club". Bring your supplies and project and come to create!

Sunday, November 14, 2010

The wreath card was a "challenge" idea for a few ladies who completed it. The wreath was the starting point and was made using a Martha Stewart leaf punch. I honestly forgot if this was Becky's, Nancy's, Grandy's or Angela's- but they were all wonderful.

I had hoped to get all the photos posted today, but some will have to wait. Let's leave with a great "snorting" laugh shot of Paula and Stacy in background.

Frames and more for Christmas

These frames & calendar were made by Paula and Denise. Imagine starting with a white canvas and have something so warm and beautiful created when you are finished.

Cards for Christmas

Each year the favorite thing to do is make Christmas cards, on our weekend away. A few ladies have completed all their cards for this year (and now have time to do baking).
Here are some samples of their work. Clara made the cute reindeer and snow scene. Becky and Nancy were making the lovely angel cards.

Advent Calendars & Gift Pails....

4 of the ladies were making these unique mini muffin tin Advent Calendars. Look how different and cute they all turned out. Kami, Paula, Stacy and Denise (shown here), made these.

Flourishes & COPICs & weekend away...

Although I didn't get a photo of the new stamps we received, I still wanted to post that they have arrived. A few already are gone. Since I was away this weekend, more might be now. So hurry in to see the newest releases.
We also received our first small order of COPIC Sketch Markers. Start small and add as we can, that's our plan. I just love playing with them and have gotten a "little" better.

I did say I was away this weekend, so I had better explain the next few photos.
We have a Weekend Getaway at Leavenworth Inn, and it was this past weekend. (I actually got home earlier this evening).
Since it is obvious that I am not the best photographer, there are fewer photos than I would like to have had. (In other words, "blurry" is the my new nickname). I'm sure it's my glasses, right?!
Stay tuned over next week as I get more in from other sources.

The first 2 are samples of some of the wonderful items made this weekend.
Turkeys from punches, fun and colorful. Becky, Nancy, Grandy & Angela were making these.

The adorable owl frames were made by Kami.

Fabric Flower Pins with Michelle Mathey

I am so excited, Michelle Mathey is going to be teaching a class on Fabric Flower pins. Aren't they very classy looking? She came to my class today and brought 2 for me to keep. Modeled by Angela, (who designed our sign), they are a soft, vintage looking flower, with a pearl in the center.
December 8th. at 10:00am We already have a registration started, so call to book your spot.
Michelle wrote a lovely little message about us on her blog, after taking the card class today. We had a nice group of ladies there today.
Allot of talent in the room.

Tuesday Take away Nov. 8th.

This week's M&T is done using Cosmo Cricket paper (and some spellbinders that I had not used yet.) Nice fall colors.
Although the rust color looks a bit orange in this photo, it looks better "in person".
It was one of those days that nothing seemed to go together well. But, with some help from Paulette getting ready to teach Cricut class, it fell together. Thanks Paulette.
Cost is $2.00
Do you still have some Halloween photos to crop? Here are a couple of really cute ideas, by Lisa Ceddia. Hand stitching all the way around the page on right. Note the ribbon folds around the photos on the left. Darling.....

Halloween Sale...40% off

Let's get the Halloween pages finished, with a sale on all Halloween items. The remainder of this week we'll offer the 40% off, then it will be put away to make room for Autumn and Christmas things.
My favorite time of year, Autumn. When life is changing and all the colors remind us of new growth yet to come. I do prefer the cooler weather too.

We also have some Just The Right Stamps left that are half price too.

More Flourish are on order, since the last new releases sold out in 3 days. There were a couple more releases as well, so those will be in that order too, arriving next week.

Check out the classes still posted and call to register. The Monday classes we open specifically for those times, since we are normally closed. However, if you are attending a class and want to shop a bit after, that is a great time to look around.

Do you have some project you would like to show us? We would love to see your ideas too!
Happy Crafting........

New winter paper from Jillibean. Cute snowmen, who can resist?

The Crop at Castle HS on Saturday was a good time. So many nice people. One group stuck out in my mind, a group of 3 generations. How nice to have your mom, daughter, mother, grandmother all together to save memories. A nice family to be with.
So, here is what we have left of the high school items. Yes, there are music albums, but you can't see them in photo. For the 2 ladies wanting them, come in and get them while they are still here.
Cheerleaders...we can order more albums for all of you, but you need to come in and let us know!
