Stella & Rose mini book sample

I finished my sample of wooden mini.( Mary is working on a kids theme too.)
I used the Stella & Rose, which I love, from My Mind's Eye ! Also a new McGill butterfly punch, spellbinders, Zva pearls and SU ribbon I had left over. I'll be looking for brown or the rose colored satin ribbon to use. Oh, going to Jasper, maybe can get to Doodlebug to look! shhhhh

The new Flourishes arrived today, so if you pre-ordered, they will be available after noon tomorrow.

Memories Book peek

Teresa M. stopped by MTTC yesterday and we had opened some wooden mini album pages to see if they had holes. Sure enough they did and we all started imaging what we could do with them. So like
the "3 stooges", Mary , Teresa and I started collecting papers and embellishments to make something. While we stopped to eat (Steak and Take Grill salmon again), Teresa kept going and this is the finished product. (It is about 8x5 ", if I were to guess now). The closeup shows some detail too.
While it's only the beginning of a class project (we have more pages to add), we are wondering about interest in this lovely mini book. Teresa has another idea with the English Rose paper collection (from Kaisercraft), and Mary is working on a kids version too. Make a comment and let us know what you think. The date will be announced when we get all 3 finished.

Graduation 2011

I know this is a business blog, but I just have to show one little pic of my beautiful daughter at her graduation from HS. I didn't get permission from others, so cropped them out. (Although they are all lovely too).
She will be teaching some kids classes with us this summer.
Congratulations to my lovely daughter and now on to the rest of your life.

Artist Trading Cards

To be honest, I never really "got" the ATC's before now.
Since we mentioned previously we are starting an ATC Club, I have some samples now to share. I'm afraid I don't know whom made each card, but these are Kimmay's to share with you.
Each one is from a different person and they are dated and signed with each making on back. They are all "themed" and I would guess it's a winter one here.
I wish I had thought to get photos of Kimmay's recent ones (from Late Create), but I was just in awe and get caught up in admiring them myself. It made me think "I just may have to start another hobby".
The ATC Club will begin in August, but Kimmay will hold a M&T for them in July. If you are interested in this, please let us know.

Tatting Classes in July

Do you know what tatting is? The first time I saw it was while nursing in Canada. This lady was using hair, yes hair, to make lovely broaches. Apparently that was used way back. Anything that was very thin and long was used.
I have always been curious about it and now we are offering a chance to learn with Dorcas.
I told a friend about it and she was so excited and ran to get her cards she made 10 years ago (she said to ignore the cards, as she is much better now). My photo is a bit blurry ( I know you're all shocked by this-ha), but you can see how delicate the pieces are.
This is a 3 week course starting Wednesday, July 6th. at 10 am. We have 2 spaces left, as we are keeping this class small. I know there are already 2 people wanting evening classes, so we'll see what we can do.
The funny thing is, Dorcas is the one who taught my friend (I'm sure Dorita won't mind me saying her name), 10 years ago in another tatting class she taught.
The cost is $35. for the 3 weeks and must be pre-registered.

Friends scrapping together....

Do you have a group of friends that you scrap or stamp with? Reserve your gathering at MTTC.
You have use of all tools, etc. and if you run out of tape or need some embellishment, you can walk into the next room to shop.
"Cruisen' Friends" had a day to scrap and talk about their cruise. Kimmay, Dorcas, Karen & Peggy enjoy their time together.
bring your knitting or needle work too.
Speaking of needlework.....Dorcas is going to teach a Tatting Class in July. Let us know if you are interested, as the classes will be limited to 4 people at a time. It will be a 3 week course.

As you may know, Autism Awareness is a very special cause for me, so I wanted to let you know about a sale this Saturday. There will be a craft sale at Stringtown Elementary. I mention this because one of the tables will be run by" Inspiring Autism Spectrum Families" Charity. If you have anything crafty you would like to donate to IASF to sell, please bring it to the studio by this Friday. It could be a card, 3D items you made, or anything handmade.
I'll be making cards all week, so if you want to come in and join me for that, please do.

There is also a rummage sale at Plaza School on Saturday, May 21st. for the same charity.
My friend heads this charity and she has been working very hard to get it going. If you have anything you need to get out of the house (small items only-no large appliances), let us know.
I am cleaning my house too (finally eh).

Animal Kingdom wins KY Derby

Derby Day at MTTC and some ladies who wore hats to the event. All in good fun and spirit.
We hope to see you at Late Create this Friday, May 13th.

Also coming up at Stringtown Elementary is a Craft Sale. One table in particular is special to me, the "Inspiring Autism Spectrum Families". This charity is headed by Colleen York and I have not seen a harder worker for the cause. If you are out that way, stop by and see what cute crafts she has been making for weeks now. If anyone has any hand made crafts to donate, you may bring them to MTTC and we'll get them to her.

Hope your Mother's Day was filled with the things you wanted, or needed.

Autism Crop a huge success....Thank You!

Another Crop is past and all went well (except for me forgetting the stamp for the M&T ). I say again, "getting old is not for sissies". Luckily my daughter was working at studio and could rush them in.
Thank you to everyone who donated, to everyone who helped out and to everyone who came!
A big thank you to Shyler's Bar-b-Que, who always supply the lunch. To my friends Lee, Stacy, Kami, Bertha, Kimmay, Lynn, Ryan, Paulette, Mary, Anita & Bob (some of whom I seem to drag into helping me at all my events), and of course my daughter Catherine, a big hug and thank you for always being there for me. I sometimes wonder how you put up with me, but like Bob said, "what are friends for?"!
Thank you also to Doodlebug's Hannah and Melanie, and Scrapbook Central's Heather (and son), to Jennifer Reimer of Stampin' Up! and Michele Mathey of Amuse.
A peek at the cake balls that some of the St. Mary's staff made (Teresa, Cathy, Mary , Belinda & Ann). Too pretty to eat..but we did anyway!

Beginners COPIC class

Have you been listening to your friends talk about COPIC markers and wondered what the fuss is? Here is your chance to find out. Helen will have a Beginners Class on Saturday, May 21st.
Here is the pretty pink card we will complete, after practicing on other images.
This is a Loralie stamp.
Call to register 490 4790

Don't forget to check out the web site for the May calendar. I am trying to get the link added to this blog. Any techies are welcome to come help me. I know reading and doing are 2 things, and I can't seem to do both to get it linked.

M&T week of May 1st..

This week's M&T is made with a Flourishes stamp (Mix'n Mugs), and COPIC markers. The paper is 3 Bugs In A Rug. I love both sides, one with flowers and then the checked. Green is my favorite color and this combination is so pretty. The edge punch is a Martha S., and the ribbon is S. U.
Oh how I wish we were into the "May flowers". But it looks like "April showers" are continuing for awhile. I just want to curl up on the sofa with a good book.
So if you make it out Wed. through Saturday, stop by and make this card for $3.00 or just come and work on your current projects. Or, you could bring a book (although we don't have a sofa) and read.
Remember you can come in to the studio anytime we are open and work on your projects for $2.00 an hour, or 3 hours for $5.00 We have so many tools at your disposal, so you won't need to drag in your own.
